CHARITIES and good causes will benefit from the Hedon’s Mayor’s charity funds.
Funds raised during the course of Councillor John Dennis’ tenure as the 668th Mayor of Hedon will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK and local community projects.
Announcing the beneficiaries at Hedon Town Council meeting last night, the Mayor also revealed that fundraising has actually taken place since December last year.
The sale of mulled-wine at the Christmas light switch-on and a Burns Night social event kick-started the fund; with £538 raised at last week’s ‘Mayormaking’ dinner, the total raised is already nearly £1,000.
