Construction Skate Park Hedon

HEDON TOWN COUNCIL meets at the Town Hall on Thursday 9th January 2014 and an update is expected to be given on the construction of the new skate park extension on the fields off Draper’s Lane.

The construction of the new £100,000 leisure facility began in November last year and is expected to be completed in the next few weeks.

Young people in the town presented a petition to the council calling for a more modern skate park to be built, and have played a role in influencing its design which will extend the original park.

The Property Committee will consider the progress report on the skate park at the meeting on Thursday and is also discussing seats and planting on Watson Park and allotments at Sheriff Highway.

Hedon Town Council meetings are open to the public (young people included!) to attend and observe. Business starts at 7:15pm prompt.

  1. I just hope Jim Lindop get’s the recognition he fully deserves regarding the new skatepark. Some local lads (led by my grandson) went to Jim with the idea of extending the existing skatepark. He embraced the idea wholeheatedly and oversaw the project from concept to fruition. I just hope he get’s the credit he deserves. Well done Jim.
