‘Clapping for our Carers’ has become part of everyone’s calendar now EVERY THURSDAY AT 8PM. It has been observed in Hedon since March 29th and we’ve seen and heard some wonderful experiences.
TRIBUTES will be paid on Friday 8 May from this generation to the Second World War generation who gave so much service and sacrifice during those turbulent times. And, from the safety of your home, it is hoped that you will join in with the activities.

IRON MAN will be visiting Hedon on Friday 24 April. Get your cameras and phones ready for photos. Families will be able to see him from a safe distance from their gardens, windows and doorways from 10 am on the following streets:
There will be some prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place chosen by the Mayor – but this is not about prizes, it is about showing as a town that we can still mark an important event in the spirit of those who came before us in the second world war – and we can still have fun too!
Scouts are being asked to join in and clap in full uniform, for next Thursday’s Round of Applause for NHS carers and other essential workers at 8pm. Thursday 23 April is St. George’s Day.

Not everyone has a network of family, friends, neighbours or carers to call upon. This page is dedicated to those people. Particularly those in Hedon, Preston, Paull, Thorngumbald, Camerton, Ryehill and Burstwick that are without support.
This interim group of volunteers aim to offer immediate help where needed in the Hedon and District area and offer pick-up and delivery services of essential supplies to isolated people not receiving help from friends, family or neighbours.
