It is with immense sadness that I report the passing of Graham Bradshaw on the 31st August. Known to most Hedon folks as the jovial proprietor of Rings & Things, Graham was a lovely man, a true gent with a great sense of humour and fun. Deepest sympathies to Marjorie and all the family. The funeral is on Monday, 9th September and the family’s notice is copied below.
A FAMILY TREASURE HUNT will take place in Hedon on Sunday 15 September 2019. Those wishing to take part in this leisurely walk around the town solving clues (no car needed), should assemble at the Town Hall at 2:00pm. Adults – £2. Under 16 – £1. Under 5 – Free.

“Keep the Home Fires Burning” is an Exhibition marking 80 years of the outbreak of World War 2 and is at Hedon Museum from Wednesday 11 September until Saturday 2 November 2019.

East Riding Kickboxing Club is part of The Nation’s Biggest Sports Day! The Club is organising a “Have A Go” session at Inmans Primary School, Hedon on Saturday, 24 August 2019 (between 10am and 2pm) – it’s free to come along and everyone (age 3+) is welcome!

Yorkshire Day, 1st of August, is the day when the Declarations of Integrity should be read in each of the three Ridings. Traditionally the Declaration should be read in fiv different dialects including modern English and old Norse, whilst facing towards the county’s ancient capital of York (that’s towards the North West for us in Hedon).
ALL MOD CONS, a band playing the music of The Jam, perform at The Shakespeare Inn on Sunday 28 July 2019. Band takes to the stage at 6pm.
Over the August Bank Holiday weekend (24 – 26 August 2019), St Augustine’s Church will be serving cream teas on Saturday, Sunday and Monday afternoon 2pm-4pm, and there will be organ music 2-3pm each afternoon. Come, visit, explore and enjoy a cream tea too!
