We appreciate that in these unprecedented times many of our community residents are struggling to be able to go out and buy provisions, cook meals and collect essential items, etc. Inmans would like to offer a Helping Hands service to help those in need.

There will be some prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place chosen by the Mayor – but this is not about prizes, it is about showing as a town that we can still mark an important event in the spirit of those who came before us in the second world war – and we can still have fun too!
Scouts are being asked to join in and clap in full uniform, for next Thursday’s Round of Applause for NHS carers and other essential workers at 8pm. Thursday 23 April is St. George’s Day.

WITH the preponderance of malicious ‘fake news’ on social media, and the terrible pandemic impacting on us all, then the idea of pulling off a light-hearted April Fool’s prank is no longer very appealing. However, in calmer times the Hedon Blog (HU12 Online) has never shied away from the odd trick or two.
Because of the ongoing concerns about coronavirus (COVID-19) and particularly the need to protect those at high-risk from the effects of the virus, the following events have been cancelled…
Friday, May 8 will see VE 75 activities at 3pm which is the time that Prime Minister Winston Churchill announced ‘Peace in Europe’ in 1945. On Market Hill in Hedon, a series of VE 75 events are planned including a brass band, singers, dancers and World War II re-enactments. There will be a 1940’s fancy dress competition for children. St Augustine’s Church will be hosting special VE 75 exhibitions over the weekend set up by the Hedon Museum and the Hedon Women’s Institute.
