Bus company East Yorkshire has announced that local Hornsea, Hedon and Withernsea buses will continue to run as normal during the new national lockdown, in order to allow key workers to get to work and essential journeys to be made.
The EastRider X7 will start at Withernsea and call at Hollym, Patrington, Ottringham, Keyingham, Thorngumbald and Hedon before running straight down Hedon Road into Hull City Centre, shaving around ten minutes from the current journey time. Rolled out during January 2021, the new buses will have extra comfortable seats, WiFi and USB chargers.
The ‘Bus Out to Help Out’ ticket discount deal will allow anyone who buys a single or return ticket on an East Yorkshire bus after 7pm in the evening to bring along a fellow traveller completely FREE of charge. The ticket deal runs every day during September…
EAST Yorkshire buses will return to their pre-lockdown timetables from Sunday 5 July 2020. The milestone comes as non-essential retail, pubs, cafes and some tourist attractions have all been able to reopen with social distancing measures in place.
The new Flexi5 tickets give you five days of travel on East Yorkshire buses which you can use as and when you need them. The tickets are available for various different zones, including for travel between Hull, Hedon and Withernsea.
FROM 15 June you will have to wear a face-covering when you travel on public transport.
This doesn’t have to be a face mask – it can be as simple as a scarf or bandana tied around your head.
From Sunday 31 May, in response to the government’s coronavirus advice, East Yorkshire buses will be increasing their bus services.
Service 75 will have some minor time changes. On Monday to Saturday, the journeys at 0652, 0752 and 0852 from Withernsea will now start at 0632, 0732 and 0842 so they arrive earlier into Hull. The 2300 journey from Hull to Withernsea will not operate. The last bus leaving Hull will now be 2110 and the last bus leaving Withernsea will be 2147 each day.
As fewer people are travelling, buses will be less frequent on most routes, although they will be prioritising links to hospitals as much as possible. The new timetables are available to view online now at http://www.eastyorkshirebuses.co.uk, through social media, and on the East Yorkshire Buses app.
