St. Lawrence Church, Elsternwick is holding a special Animal Service in the Churchyard and grounds on Sunday 20 October 2019 starting at 3pm. Please bring your pets and animals for this special service of blessing the animals. Any animal is welcome including horses and dogs (on leads).
Yorkshire Day, 1st of August, is the day when the Declarations of Integrity should be read in each of the three Ridings. Traditionally the Declaration should be read in fiv different dialects including modern English and old Norse, whilst facing towards the county’s ancient capital of York (that’s towards the North West for us in Hedon).
Takes place on Friday 9th August, 11am, with a presentation from Catherine Terry, a speaker from the world of entertainment. Catherine is an award-winning British actress, singer, and musical theatre performer.
ALL MOD CONS, a band playing the music of The Jam, perform at The Shakespeare Inn on Sunday 28 July 2019. Band takes to the stage at 6pm.
Over the August Bank Holiday weekend (24 – 26 August 2019), St Augustine’s Church will be serving cream teas on Saturday, Sunday and Monday afternoon 2pm-4pm, and there will be organ music 2-3pm each afternoon. Come, visit, explore and enjoy a cream tea too!

March and Rally against the Yorkshire Energy Park – Saturday 20th July 2019 meeting to set off at 11.00am from the old Centrica Car Park (rear of the Petrol Station, near Sainsbury’s). March for Rally to be held on Far Bank, Hedon, at the end of Drapers Lane.
For the next month Hedon Museum will be holding an exhibition of wedding dresses, dating from the 1890s to the 1990s. Free Admission. Wednesdays and Saturdays from Wednesday 17th July – Saturday 7th September.
