Barbershop below the Belfry Tower!
St. Augustine’s Church in Hedon hosts the Hull Barbershop Harmony Club on Friday 1 October 2021 at 7pm.
Something new to Hedon. The Hull Barbershop Harmony Club is made up of two sections; Humber Harmony is the men’s chorus and Three Crown Sound is the women’s, both singing Capella ((just voices, no instruments) in four-part harmony. They also sing together. Their repertoire is very mixed with modern hits given the barbershop treatment along with traditional pieces from the roots of the genre. The special acoustics of the ancient church on Friday night will only add to the Barbershop experience.
The concert also features Rob Nicklas and the Cherry Burtones. Rob is a singer-songwriter from Cottingham and is well known in the area for his thoughtful music that can make you laugh and cry. The Cherry Burtones are a quartet from Cherry Burton (or thereabouts) that sing Barbershop together and with the chorus.
The tickets are free but to ensure a seat you can book online.
All money raised from refreshments and donations received at the end of the concert will go towards the renovation of the church and help ensure that the King of Holderness is still here in another 800 years.
As this is a fundraiser for St Augustine’s Church the Hull Barbershop Harmony Club hopes you do enjoy the night and show your appreciation via donations to the church. Enjoy the night, and pay what you can afford!
