Sad news ends Peter the Pony search

POLICE OFFICERS investigating the theft of Peter the 33-year-old Shetland Pony are deeply saddened to announce that he was found deceased yesterday evening (Tuesday 20 July).

Sergeant Julie Fenton said: “We are truly saddened to announce that Peter was located deceased, in a dyke not far from his home address in Preston.

“We would like to thank everyone involved in the search for the missing pony, the family of Peter have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community.

“My heartfelt condolences go to his owners following their tragic loss. We are continuing with our inquiries into his disappearance and would ask that anyone with any further information contact us on 101 quoting ref 16/72507/21.

  1. This is so sad, he was lovely always such a friendly little thing. Feel so heartbroken for the family, hope they find the culprits, if the do should be named and shamed no matter what age.

  2. This theft and subsequent death of Peter the Shetland pony is in my personal opinion absolutely sickening. The persons responsible have obviously not given Peter’s family/owners not one thought of what their selfish, self centred actions would do and if these persons have just one shred of human decency and compassion will own up to exactly what they have done.
    My heart and thoughts go out to Peter’s family/owners.
