The volunteer-led Walking for Health Scheme, supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council has now relaunched. This will be good news to the hundreds of local residents that have discovered the enjoyment of walking during the pandemic. Walking was one of the permitted exercise options during the darker days of lockdown. Many people took the opportunity to discover local trails and walkways.
With the Walking for Health Scheme, you can go on walks in a group with experienced and trained leaders. You can also receive training to become a walk leader.
By visiting the scheme website you can find details of dozens of walks across the region. There are local walks too included as part of the scheme; see the Preston Walkers on a Wednesday and find out about short walks from Paull Church on alternative Mondays.
For more information on Walking for Health, visit the website and you can also get in touch with Laura Hutchinson on mobile 07887 653489.
We also featured a series of local walks on HU12 Online earlier this year (Jan – March).
