Hedon (Inmans) drain side and railtrack walk

The latest in our Walking Series of articles.

Beware muddy conditions.

This walk takes you along the side of Burstwick Drain joining at Thorn Road running alongside Inmans estate and joins the Hull to Winestead Rail Trail which takes you back into Hedon. Takes about 25 minutes along the drain side and a further 25 minutes along the Rail Track. All the links refer to what3words locations.

Note: The trail alongside the drain can be overgrown in the summer. After prolonged rainfall, both the drain side and the rail trail can be very muddy and slippery (almost boggy) which really makes for difficult progress. Wellies or appropriate footwear essential in muddy conditions. See the additional Coronavirus Note below.

Coronavirus additional note: Along the drain side it will be difficult to pass a walker coming from the opposite direction and maintain a 2-metre social distance. So note the passing places that are available and reverse your steps if necessary. Carry a facemask.

Coronavirus Note: You should currently minimise time spent outside your home, but you can leave your home to do an exercise walk. This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area. You can exercise in a public outdoor place, by yourself, with the people you live with, with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one) or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household. Whilst walking you should maintain social distancing.
