New EastRider X7 bus service from January 2021

BUS COMPANY East Yorkshire is launching a new express service in the new year from Withernsea/Hedon into Hull City Centre, opening up new opportunities for people to travel for work and leisure. As well as quicker journey times, the new service will allow passengers to travel in luxury, with extra comfortable seats, WiFi and charging points.

The EastRider X7 will start at Withernsea and call at Hollym, Patrington, Ottringham, Keyingham, Thorngumbald and Hedon before running straight down Hedon Road into Hull City Centre, shaving around ten minutes from the current journey time. Rolled out during January 2021, the new buses will have extra comfortable seats, WiFi and USB chargers.

East Yorkshire Area Director Ben Gilligan says that 2020 has seen the dawn of a new era for bus travel in East Yorkshire. “At the end of summer we launched our first EastRider buses from York to Hull and Bridlington, and they’ve had a brilliant reaction from customers,” he said. “We wanted to bring the new brand to some of our other long-distance routes, to give passengers faster journeys and more luxurious travel.”

“As roads become more congested and people start thinking more about their personal carbon footprints, public transport will become the sensible choice for commuters and shoppers. By making our services faster and more comfortable, we’re giving people even more reasons to leave the car at home and hop on the bus.”

The new service will begin in early January, and tickets on the express buses will be the same great value as they are now, with a Hull-Withernsea return £9.50, or a Hull-Hedon return just £4.80. Discounted child, young person and weekly tickets are also available.

There are also changes to some other East Yorkshire buses in and around Hull in the new year. Details of all changes, and full timetables, can be found by visiting the East Yorkshire website.

  1. Hi good news on this new bus does it still have bus pass usage or will we have to pay full price bring that we are pensioners i await your reply thankyoux

  2. We had this service years ago. Used to go straight down the bypass. Unfortunately the bus fares are so expensive it’s cheaper to drive & park into Hull. Maybe more would use if fares were lowered.
