Burton Constable Hall, Stables & Grounds

Join us for a SPOOKTACULAR time during the half-term holidays! Get in the spirit with lots of spooky fun and games for children and their families in the grounds and stables at Burton Constable Hall at Halloween half-term.

Follow the Spooky Bat Trail around the grounds to discover the secret spooky spell and for those little monsters whose legs don’t want to walk so far, we have the Pumpkin Trail. Pick up your trails from the ticket desk on arrival. All children completing one or both trails will receive a treat. Open daily 11am – 5pm. Witches Hat Trail – Burton Constable Hall 12pm-5pm, last admission 4pm. Agnus Spellious, the Hag of Holderness has mislaid all her hats and she can’t remember how many she has! Explore the Hall as you search for the missing Witches Hats, how many can you find? When you have found them all, pick up a treat from the Hall desk.

Let your little monsters imaginations run wild with our Creepy Craft Activities and Freaky Face Painting in the atmospheric Stables. Discover the ‘Hag of Holderness’, Agnus Spellious weaving her spooky spells and mixing magic potions in her Witches Lair in the Stables or visit The Brewhouse for our daily Spooky Story Telling (suitable for Key Stage 1).

Dotty Doomsville: Spooky Photographer: Wednesday 31st October Only 11am – 2pm & 2.30pm – 4.30pm. Why not let Dotty Doomsville our Spooky Photographer capture a ghostly transformation of you and your friends. £2 per photograph and you can take it away with you on the day. Find Dotty Doomsville in the 2nd Courtyard of the Stables. Witches, Wizards, Ghouls and Zombies all welcome!

Get in the spirit for all the fiendish fun and activities by coming in fancy dress. The Children’s Halloween Fancy Dress Competition will be judged daily at 3pm by the ‘Hag of Holderness’ Agnus Spellious and the lucky winner will receive a Burton Constable Hall & Grounds Goody Bag. Whatever you decide there will be plenty of fiendish fun for all the family!

Saturday 27 October – Sunday 4 November.
The Spooky Bat Trail and The Pumpkin Trail are open daily from 11am-5pm (last admission 4pm).
The Witches Hat Trail in the Hall, is open daily 12pm-5pm, last admission 4pm.
Monday 29th October – Friday 2nd November Creepy Craft Activities & Freaky Face Painting 11.30am – 3pm, Agnus Spellious, the Hag of Holderness (witch character), 11.30am to 3.30pm daily, Spooky Story Telling 1.30pm daily and Children’s Halloween Fancy Dress Competition 3pm daily.
Wednesday 31 October. Dotty Doomsville: Spooky Photographer 11am -2pm & 2.30pm – 4.30pm, 2nd Courtyard, Burton Constable Stables. £2.00 per image.

Admission Charges:
Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 October/Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 November – Adults: normal admission charges, Children (5-18): £1 + normal admission, Under 5’s £1 & Under 2’s Free.
Monday 29th October – Friday 2 nd November – Adults: normal admission charge, Children (5-18) £2 + normal admission charge, Under 5’s £2, Under 2’s Free

Halloween Ghost Stories Location: Burton Constable Hall Wednesday 31 October from 6.15pm. Join us for an eerie evening of spooky ghost stories and ghoulish goings-on as you explore the Hall after dark on All Hallows Eve! Listen to the Ghostly Fiddler as he plays his chilling tunes in the atmospheric salons in the Hall and be spellbound by the Hag Of Holderness, a wicked witch who will be lurking in the shadows! Or why not let Dotty Doomsville our resident Spooky Photographer capture a ghostly transformation of you and your friends to take home as a memento of your evening. (Separate charge of £2 per image applies, payable on the evening). Tickets are now on sale for this very popular event and can be ordered in the Gift Shop or by contacting Helen Dewson on 01964 562400 or by email at helendewson@burtonconstable.com tickets cost £10.50 for adults and £5.25 for children (5-18).
The first tour starts at 6.15pm and on a regular basis right throughout the evening with the last tour leaving at 8.15pm. Just let us know when you would like to arrive. The Tea Room will be open serving delicious freshly prepared food from 5.30pm.
