POLICE are investigating an incident when an elderly man was pushed to the floor and assaulted by a woman who conned her way into his home by pretending to be his daughter.
The incident happened at a property in Sergeants Close, Drapers Lane, Hedon, at around 11.45pm, yesterday (Monday, 11th April 2016).
The 82-year-old victim answered his door after a woman claimed to be his daughter. When he opened the door, it is said she forced her way in, assaulting the man and causing him to fall to the floor. She then demanded cash and began to search the property, further assaulting him when he attempted to call the police, before fleeing the scene.
The victim, who suffered cuts and bruises, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The suspect is described as white, of fat build, wearing a woolly hat and a long black coat.
