Hedon – at “The Hub” of the Community

The Hub openingThe New Hope Family Church (formerly Pentecostal and Christian Life Church) opened ‘The Hub’ to the public in Hedon town centre on Saturday.

Pastor David North and his team all dressed up in Hub T-shirts welcomed visitors to the new centre with the offer of chocolate eggs and specially made Easter cakes. David explained that the new centre aims to live up to its name and become a ‘hub’ at the heart of the local community. “We hope to reach out into the local community and connect with as many people as we can,” he said.

The Hub cake and Easter eggsLocated in Hedon at 18b Market Place (The Old Mill), the church has exciting plans for the former shop, starting with the opening of a new Craft Club. The club will be for anyone who is interested in learning new craft skills or honing existing ones.

A series of practical demonstrations and workshops will feature in the first six weeks of the Craft Club (Wednesday 30th March until Wednesday 4th May 2016) covering subjects such as jewellery making, cross stitch and furniture renovation.

Each session runs from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm and will cost £2 per session (to cover the cost of materials used). Note: The Hub itself will be open on Wednesdays as a drop-in centre from 10 am – noon.
