CHILDREN in Hedon got a new perspective on the Easter story on Saturday by sharing a meal ‘Bedouin-style’ in the manner that Jesus and his disciples may have enjoyed their last supper.
A Bedouin tent was erected in the back room of the Hedon Methodist Church taking over half the room space in the recreation of the Easter scene. The tent was certainly an unusual attraction at the ‘Messy Church’ event!
And whilst the tent may have enjoyed the modern advantages of a television set to watch a short animation about the last supper and come equipped with a guitar and church story-tellers to keep the children entertained, it did provide the setting for a better appreciation of the Easter events.
