FITMUMS & FRIENDS in Hedon are surely one of the most successful and popular community groups to have emerged in the town in recent years. Fitmums pink-clad runners have become a familiar sight on the town’s streets and in the surrounding Holderness villages.
As well as providing a supportive social club to encourage people to run and keep fit, the group has also supported individual members to get involved in many charity fundraising running events. One such event was held on Sunday in Manchester and twenty-eight Fitmums and Friends were up in the early hours of the morning to catch their 6 am bus to the event.
The Manchester Winter Run was taking place to support Cancer Research UK on Sunday 28th February 2016 and over 3,000 people were expected to take part including our intrepid group, most of whom were expected to take part in the 10km run.
We will bring you more news of how our local runners fared, but in the meanwhile find out more about the day on Facebook and Twitter:
Those on Facebook can find lots of photographs of the event on the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/WinterRunUK/
And lots on Twitter too at www.twitter.com/WinterRunUK
The Hedon Fitmums and Friends club meets every Monday at 7 pm at Inmans Primary School, Hedon and new runners are invited to come from 6:45 pm.
You can also find Hedon Fitmums and Friends on Facebook to get feedback on each of the runs and sessions.
