CHRISTMAS would just not be the same in some of the villages in South Holderness, were it not for the visit by Santa and his Sleigh organised by the Holderness Lions. Arranged every year, usually starting with a presence at the Hedon Christmas Lights switch on, Santa and his Sleigh usually visit 6 or 7 villages every season bringing lots of delight to local children and families. Each year, communities benefit from and give thanks to the Holderness Lions for this special appearance by Santa’s Sleigh.
Also each year, the Lions themselves express their thanks to the Hedon Community First Responders for supporting the Santa tour by playing the ‘reindeer’ role and towing Santa’s Sleigh across the area.
In appreciation, at the Holderness Lions meeting last night at the British Legion Club, Lion Eileen Smith (President) and Lion Barry Rojahn handed over a cheque for £250 to the Hedon Responders which was gratefully received on behalf of the life-saving organisation by Responders Tim Houlton and Roger Allison.
The funds are used to support the running costs of the voluntary team of Hedon Community First Responders.
