Lottery funded bellsWE ARE delighted to bring you this fascinating video produced by the grandson of Keith and Jennifer Everingham (who we thank for sharing this).

The video published on YouTube is fascinating on several counts:

  • it updates us on the progress with the Hedon Hand Bells Group and shows part of their rehearsals which eventually will lead to their first public performance using the Heritage Lottery funded newly-repaired hand bells.
  • Secondly, the video gives us some rare footage of the Hedon bellringers and bells at work in St. Augustine’s Church – and a glimpse of a view from the rooftop at the church.

Delightful stuff!

  1. Brings back happy memories of when I used to ring the church bells and hand bells, Keep up the good work.

  2. How wonderful to see this it brought lots of happy memories of my childhood in Hedon. My brother John Rogerson used to ring the bells with Cliff and his dad and he also went round the villages at Christmas time ringing the handbells cannot remember all the lads names just Colin Horseman and Brian Grant come to mind.
The sound of the great bells of Holderness used to peal out wonderfully and this also reminded me of my wedding day. Great work and thank you to all involved.
Going to forward to my brothers.
