The Queen’s representative, the Deputy Lieutenant of the East Riding, Colonel David Fuller, OBE lays a wreath at Hedon Cenotaph
THERE was a large turnout of people in the Market Place yesterday to watch the assembly of the parade for this year’s Remembrance event. Ex-services personnel and members of the Royal British Legion formed a column behind the band of the Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force, they were joined behind by members of the Women’s Institute, Holderness Lions, guides and scouts and councillors and civic guests of Hedon Town Council.
The service there, again led by the Rev. Wright, included observing a respectful two-minutes silence, followed by a playing of the last-post by the bugler of the army cadet force before the laying of poppy wreaths, firstly by the Queen’s representative, the Deputy Lieutenant of the East Riding, Colonel David Fuller, OBE, then the Hedon Mayor Councillor Neil Black and then representatives of the armed forces, ex-services groups, other organisations and individuals.
The parade reformed once again to conduct the official march-by and formal salute to the Hedon Mayor Councillor Neil Black and the Queen’s representative, the Deputy Lieutenant of the East Riding, Colonel David Fuller, OBE.
