THE new licensees at The Station on Souttergate took over the running of the pub officially last week and have plans to welcome and encourage more families to use the establishment.
Dan Mason and Tracy Beacock are the local Hedon couple taking the helm and launched their approach to running The Station during the busy HedFest weekend. A family fun day took place in the beer garden where the couple have installed a set of swings. With new chairs and tables ready, and a bouncy castle brought in to complement the existing goal posts it was certainly busy on Saturday.
The large beer garden to the rear of the pub has really been something of a ‘secret’ place until now because it’s not visible from the pub front, but Dan and Tracy hope to change all that and make sure that parents know that: It’s a safe and fun place to bring the kids, whilst parents enjoy a drink. So, Hedon, the secret’s out!
Friday and Saturday was additionally busy last week as the pub staged its HedFeast Backroom Comedy Club.
The small backroom, which is normally inhabited by a pool table provided a perfect venue to get up close to each of the 25 comedians taking part.
Good luck to Dan and Tracy.
