WITH talks of a heat wave it’s opportune time to remind residents of some of the main activities taking place in the area over the next few weekends in July 2015 so that you can enjoy the sun and have some fun too!
On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July it’s the 4th Annual Scarecrow Trail Weekend in Thorngumbald. The Scarecrows are out from 10am on the Saturday until 4pm on the Sunday – and it’s no exaggeration to say that if previous trails are the benchmark – they will be brilliant once again! There is more on HU12 Online about the whole weekend, but the Saturday will particularly appeal to families with several attractions on all day but lots going on at the Royal Mail public house car park from 5pm including a Magic Show.
On Saturday 11th July it’s the ‘mini’ Preston Village Show staged at the Nag’s Head, Preston. Expect lots of what you would have normally expected to see at the traditional village show – but on a smaller scale. Intriguingly, the event will be opened by a secret celebrity at 1.30pm.
Also on Saturday 11th for those wanting a ride out, it’s the Roos & District Annual Show with things getting under way from 1.30pm.
On Saturday 18th July it’s the Eastside Gala at the Saltend Sports Ground. The event runs from 10am until 6pm with sports, bands, fun fair and lots for the children.
We will bring you more on each of these on HU12 Online.
