EAST RIDING of Yorkshire Youth and Family Support Service recently hosted the Positive Activities Grant awards presentation evening at County Hall in Beverley. Grants were awarded to successful voluntary youth organisations from across the County.
Hedon Youth Group were awarded £500 which will be used to purchase further sports equipment, subsidise trips in the community and contribute towards the overall running of the group.
The Director of Children, Families & Schools, Kevin Hall who presented the Positive Activities Grant award to volunteers Scott Burton and Lewis Dandy, commented:
“It was wonderful to meet Hedon Youth Group. The award will enable the group to deliver positive activities to children and young people to help improve their personal, social, educational development as well as provide some great fun activities.”
The Positive Activities Grant is a small grants fund awarded to voluntary, not-for-profit organisations, to expand the amount of positive activity available to the young people of the East Riding aged 5 to 19 years. The funding is aimed to benefit both established and new groups to buy new equipment, help with running costs, staffing and rent.
