FRIDAY 28th NOVEMBER 2014 is the date for your diaries! This is when – arguably – the biggest event in Hedon’s annual calendar takes place: The Switch-On of the Christmas Tree lights!
With Santa’s Grotto and sleigh, children’s fairground rides, army cadet force band, the main street turned into a Christmas Market – and real reindeer! – the scene will be set for Hedon to welcome the Christmas season.
KCFM radio station will be broadcasting from the Christmas Tree in the Market Place from 6pm with the lights being switched on by Hedon’s 668th Mayor at 6:30pm.
1. Hedon Youth Group will be at the Lights Switch-On. Scott Burton says:
“We will have a stall as usual this year selling a variety of foods, sausage rolls, mini Quiche as well as biscuits, cupcakes and mince pies. We will also be selling magic Reindeer food and glow sticks this year
“As usual we will be trying to recruit volunteers to support the group on a Friday night and ask that people come over and to chat with us.
“The funds we raise will go to continue to support the young people of Hedon and the surrounding area, well into 2015.”
2. Local vets the Haven Veterinary Group are getting involved in the Switch-On party for Hedon’s Christmas Lights on Friday 28th November 2014…. and they will reveal their PETS CALENDAR for 2015!
3. Santa’s Sleigh will be in the Market Place provided once again by the wonderful Holderness Lions!
4. …And of course don’t forget to buy your Hedon Calendars for 2015 !!
Note: If you are local trader, business or organisation and are doing something special for the Christmas Lights night – then let us know at the Hedon Blog firstname.lastname@example.org and we will include the information on this page.
