THE 66th Annual Show by the Hedon & District Chrysanthemum Society takes place on Saturday 1st November 2014 at The Alexandra Hall, Hedon.
The Chrysanthemum Society is once again staging its traditional competition to discover the best chrysanthemums, vegetables, open craft and cookery with the show open to the pubic from 2pm – 4:00pm.
Over 30 trophies and awards will be presented to the winners by the Reverend Colin Plenderleith at the end of the show.
Entries to the competition are in over 70 classes which include chrysanthemums, vegetables, open craft and cookery.
Note: Exhibitors may stage their exhibits from 7pm till 9pm on the Friday 31st October and from 8am – 11 am on the morning of the show.
This traditional event in Hedon’s calendar has more than just beautiful flowers as organiser John Newby explains:
“Visitors are welcomed with Tea, Coffee, biscuits and as always a chat. As well as displaying exhibits of Chrysanthemums, Vegetables and Crafts, the Cookery section is always very impressive too with increasing numbers taking part than in previous years. The children are starting to bring their exhibits too!
“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all the Committee and the helpers for raising the funds needed to stage the show each year.”
Schedules for the show are available from John Newby – Telephone 01482 898724.
