HEDON YOUTH GROUP held its first ever session on Friday 16th October 2009. Today therefore is the 5th Anniversary of that first meeting!

The group, aimed at young people aged between 11 and 16 years old, has met almost every Friday night (7pm – 9pm) since 2009 at the British Red Cross Hut on Sheriff Highway!

The Youth Group is managed by volunteers and opened in 2009 as a result of a four-year campaign by local people to improve the range of activities for young people in the town. It was set up with initial support from Hedon Town Council and the Withernsea Lions. Since then it has also received grant support from others including the East Riding Council and the Co-op. Just recently it has received a donation from the Hedon Road based company Nippon Gohsei.

Happy Birthday Hedon Youth Group!

Congratulations to all the members and volunteers who make things happen for young people in the town!

The Youth Group is planning a night out for the group members to celebrate their five-year milestone – but we’ll bring you more about that later!

For now, we’ll leave you with a few nostalgic photos – but do visit the Youth Group’s website for more information:
