LOCAL PEOPLE turned out in force yesterday (Sunday 24th August) to support good causes in a day of Fun Days!
We hope to bring you further updates later, but for now three photos!
The Station pub was busy supporting Macmillan Cancer Care yesterday with a bouncy castle and eight other stalls. Regular and organiser of the Fun Day Jim Lindop was doing his great burger flipping tricks once again and for next year’s event it’s been suggested that he also looks at doing a turn at cocktail juggling too! Tom Cruise – eat your heart out!
The now famous four – Lifestyle’s ‘The 4 Stars’ – were supporting the event which finished off a very busy weekend for them. Ana, Harry, Daniel and Jacob roped in Harry’s Mum and Dad Emma and Eddie in for a rare appearance in a photo! Emma Wharton is the team’s adult supervisor.
The Fun Day has inspired another event next Sunday 31st August when two pub regulars, Andy and Dan and two pub staff members Zoe and Bill are to subject themselves to the #IceBucketChallenge!
We’ll bring you more on this later this week!
A Garden Party was held on St Nicholasgate in support of the RNLI. Organised by the Friends of Humber and Withernsea Lifeboat one of the featured activities was horse racing using a set of traditional figures created by RNLI supporter Terry Fisher.
Held at the home of Malcolm and Catherine Coates, the photo here sees their Granddaughter Lucy being the dice thrower for players Malcolm Watkinson, Catherine Coates, Lifeboatman and Operations Manager Martin Woodhouse and Brenda Simmonds, President of the Fundraising Committee!
Just over the Boundary in Preston, the Nag’s Head was supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust by re-uniting some very big stars – The Spice Girls! Rather it was the Preston Spice Girls of Jenny, Charlotte, Jess, Shelly and Lorraine! But I couldn’t tell – I thought it was the real thing!
Between them all three events involved hundreds of local people supporting good causes and charities – and having an enjoyable time into the bargain!
What a great day – and a testimony to the goodwill and good sense of fun of local folk!
