HEDON becomes a “No Crow Zone” on the weekend of 13th and 14th September 2014 as the town hosts its first Scarecrow Walk!
Scarecrow festivals have become increasingly popular in East Yorkshire and particularly in South West Holderness with Paull, Preston and Thorngumbald all hosting events – but as a larger place the Hedon Scarecrow Walk could be one of the biggest yet!
### TRAIL GUIDES ARE NOW AVAILABLE ###
Trail Guides (£1) are now available from the Town Hall, John Dennis Estate Agents, Frames of Hedon and the Holderness Grange Lifestyle Village!
A small Scarecrow Fete is being held at the Holderness Grange Lifestyle Village, Drapers Lane on Saturday 13th September 10am – 3pm with stalls and a bouncy castle, and also a Scarecrow Cafe is being held at the Hedon Methodist Church on the same day from 10am – 1pm. Scarecrow displays at both venues!

There is a guide to making a traditional scarecrow at How to make a Scarecrow – but it doesn’t have to be a traditional one! Scarecrows come in all shapes and sizes and can be made out of all kinds of materials – as a family project, making your scarecrow can be lots of fun and really stretch your imagination and creativity!
This marvellous poster below advertising the event was designed by Sandy Dale at Hedon Town Council – an entry form can be downloaded at the link at the bottom of this article and must be returned to the Town Hall by Friday 22nd August 2014.
