Staffordshire bull terrier dog theft

UPDATE (Thurs 27th Feb 2014): Tilly has been found and reunited with her owner last night. Which is great news! Apparently the dog had been very quickly sold on to a third-party (the same night). Those who had bought the animal had subsequently seen all the publicity on Facebook and managed to get a message to the owner saying their new dog looked a lot like Tilly!

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Breed Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have a useful website with a page about safeguarding your dog from theft at Safeguarding your Stafford. They recommend the use of DogLost.co.uk – The National Database for Lost and Found Dogs at www.doglost.co.uk and suggest that dogs be micro-chipped or tattooed. Owners should take an up-to-date photo of their dog for circulation in the event that it is stolen.

Tip: What does the breed look like? Search Google for Staffordshire bull terrier.
