Hedon Town Council logo - plaque saturatedTHERE ARE only a few days left for candidates to return their nomination papers for the Hedon Town Council election.

  • Nominations need to be returned no later than 12:00 noon on the Friday 10th January 2014.

Nomination papers can be downloaded via the Hedon Blog at Hedon Town Council election.

Following the nomination period, then candidates will have the opportunity to state their case for standing directly to local voters via a web page on the Hedon Blog.

This scrutiny of local elections and candidates is nothing new to the Hedon Blog. Previously we have covered the Hedon Town Council by-election in April 2012, the East Riding Council elections (special website) in May 2011 and the General Election in May 2010.

The results of the full Hedon Town Council elections were published on May 6th 2011.

  1. seems theirs not much interest in the seats available, is this because people are fearing they will receive same treatment as Anne Suggitt a Councillor of 50 years who felt her only option was to resign, and our Mayor Jim Lindop who felt the same. Ive been informed there are also members of the council being investigated by the standards committee , could anyone confirm or deny this, and if its right what are they being investigated for. I put it to you again this council has lost the confidence of the public and should stand down , a complete new election can then take place. i would also ask what the untruths being spoken (council minutes 28th November) refer to.
