HAPPY YORKSHIRE DAY!
The image above shows the East Riding of Yorkshire Regional Flag registered this year (see The Flag Institute).
Oh, and for the traditionalists, this is the Yorkshire Day Declaration made at exactly 11.37am.
I, Hedon Blogger, being a resident of the East Riding of Yorkshire declare:
- That Yorkshire is three Ridings and the City of York, with these Boundaries of 1137 years standing;
- That the address of all places in these Ridings is Yorkshire;
- That all persons born therein or resident therein and loyal to the Ridings are Yorkshiremen and women;
- That any person or corporate body which deliberately ignores or denies the aforementioned shall forfeit all claim to Yorkshire status.
These declarations made this Yorkshire Day 2013. God Save the Queen!”

Hahaha i was in skipton that day, wish ide known all this was going on i would have come and said hello , lovely pick of the mayor and his wife outside skipton castle
Whilst the Yorkshire Flag was flown at the Town Hall on Yorkshire Day, the picture shown may be not this years. I believe the flag is not the correct way up, the green sepal should be at the top for the East Riding.
