HEDON COUNCILLORS were so impressed with the work of the Humberside Police Lifestyle Teams in the town last year (2012), that they invited all of them to the Town Hall to receive special Certificates of Merit in recognition of their achievements.

Pictured are members of the ‘Helpful Hands’ and ‘Speed Busters’ teams receiving their certificates from Hedon Mayor Councillor Jim Lindop and Mayoress Sue Lindop.

Also pictured are Christian Staniforth and Ben Wharton representing team ‘Ultras’. Last year Judges were so impressed with their work, that although not winning, the entire team received the award of a prize of a trip to France.

Other teams not able to make the presentation ceremony and buffet, were ‘Four Girls on a Mission’, ‘5 Stars and a Wish’ and the ‘Famous Five’.

THE LIONS CLUBS across the area have presented a cheque to support the excellent work undertaken by the Humberside Police Lifestyle project. Lions Malcolm Smith and Eileen Smith presented a cheque for £2,150 on behalf of the eleven Lions Clubs in the district.

Lion Eileen Smith said, “The Lions are delighted to support the Humberside Police Lifestyle project again this year as it inspires so many young people to undertake good deeds within their local communities improving the quality of life for others, fitting perfectly with the ethos of the Lions.”
