A YORSwitch ambassador will be available to answer questions and register people to the Cheaper Energy Together switch-over scheme at Hedon Library on Tuesday 26th March 2013 from 9:30am – 7:00pm.

YORSwitch is being supported by the East Riding Council. Households registering their interest will be offered the best energy deal available following an online auction between suppliers. We have more about the scheme on HU12 Online: Over 4,000 sign up for YORSwitch.

The East Riding Council has this to say about the scheme:

“Many residents are still paying too much for their energy. Sometimes they don’t have the ability to switch suppliers, are afraid of switching, don’t have the time or simply think that it’s just too much hassle.

With the Cheaper Energy Together scheme we will negotiate for competitive prices with the energy companies on behalf of our residents and make the switching process as simple as possible.

We are hoping that many people who wouldn’t otherwise switch will take advantage of the opportunity and benefit from the scheme, including some of our most vulnerable customers.”East Riding Council website

The closing date for registrations is Monday, 8th April 2013, with the online auction, between energy suppliers, taking place on Tuesday, 9th April.

Customers should have their most recent energy bill(s) with them when they attend the library if they intend to register.
