Parking statistics set scene for Town Council meeting

Parking Enforcement OfficerTHURSDAY NIGHT (28th Feb 2013) is Public Participation evening at Hedon Town Council. One of the issues that is of perrenial concern is Vehicle and Car Parking and looks likely to be raised by the public and is also on the Agenda for the Finance & General Purposes sub-committee later on that night.

One set of statistics that will prompt discussion is the number of visits made in the town by Parking Enforcement Officers and the number of tickets issued!

“From November 2012 – February 10th 2013 there were 1,447 visits in Hedon and 150 parking tickets were issued.”

Note: A visit is defined as a parking wardens trip to a particular street – so a trip to St Augustine’s Gate will count as one visit, and an officer might make more than one trip to that street each day.

The most popularly visited areas of Hedon by parking officers – perhaps unsurprisingly – were St Augustine’s Gate, Market Hill and Magdalen Lane.

The Public Participation Meeting is to be held on Thursday 28th February 2013 from 7.00 pm – 7.30 pm at the Hedon Town Hall.
