THE YORKSHIRE POST raised concerns at the end of August that Hedon Police Station could see its opening hours reduced as part of Humberside Police cost-cutting measures.
We wondered what the opening times currently are at the station, so we visited the Humberside Police Website – C Division South West Holderness page. Unfortunately, that website page – which includes lots of useful information relevant to the area – does not include the details of the station opening times. And a search for Hedon Police Station in the website search box did not reveal the right links.
We did eventually find the information we were after. It’s actually on the home page of the force’s website at http://www.humberside.police.uk/ You need to click the Hedon Station logo (as indicated on the picture).
We discovered that Hedon Police Station is open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am – 5.30pm. But closed at lunchtime on each of those days between 1pm and 2pm.
We wondered if this represents the situation pre-cuts or post-cuts?
Perhaps the opening times need to be on the relevant South West Holderness page on the website, as well as some clearer instructions on the force’s website Home page about clicking the station’s logo on the map.
Perhaps the opening times also need to be on the noticeboard outside the station itself as well?
What do you think?
