Hedon from the sky – 1925

THANKS to Rena McCarthy for alerting us to the new Britain from Above website.

Launched on the 25th June 2012 by English Heritage and the Royal Commissions on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and Wales, the website features some of the oldest and most valuable images of the Aerofilms Collection, a unique and important archive of over 1 million aerial photographs taken between 1919 and 2006. Over 16,000 are currently available on the website and an 95,000 are expected to be included by the end of 2014.

We have discovered two images of Hedon from 1925 which shows the view from an aeroplane flying over the town centre and St Augustine’s Church.
