Today – Hedon Open Gardens 2012 – Enjoy and explore our town!

Hedon Open Gardens PosterHEDON OPEN GARDENS takes place over the weekend of Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2012.

Twelve gardens are taking part and each will be open to the paying public from 1pm – 5pm on both days. Visiting the Open Gardens is a marvellous way for residents and visitors to enjoy picturesque gardens, and explore Hedon whilst supporting the town’s historic church.

All proceeds from the Open Gardens will go towards the upkeep of Hedon’s historic St Augustine’s Church – the 800 year majestic building has rightly earned its nickname as the King of Holderness.

Entry to the Open Gardens is by Programme which costs £4, and can be purchased in advance  from:

  • Hedon Post Office
  • Hedon Carpets and Beds
  • Johnsons of Hedon. 

You can also get a Programme at any of the gardens taking part on the competition days.

Kilnsea Cross

One of the Open Gardens at Holyrood House will feature a special attraction to visitors on Sunday 1st July at 2:30pm when Beverley Brass Band will be providing live entertainment. Holyrood House garden is also home to one of Hedon’s secret treasures – the Kilnsea Cross.

Prize Draw tickets will be on sale at each of the gardens. The winning ticket for a top prize of £100 will take place at St Augustine’s Church on Sunday 8th July.

Cream teas will be available in St Augustine’s Church Room which is on Magdalen Gate, but will also be accessible via Open Garden No.1 (Station Lane).
