Oyez! Oyez! Proclaiming the Hedon Jubilee Celebrations

SERGEANT OF THE MACE Dave Young was in the Market Place on Wednesday proclaiming the Hedon Town Council’s JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS on Monday 4th June 2012.

We missed our Civic Champion carrying out his Town Crier type role – but this mock-up photo perhaps sums up the occasion!?

And this is the Jubilee Proclamation:

“THE MAYOR OF HEDON AND HEDON TOWN COUNCIL HAVE PLEASURE IN PROCLAMING A GREAT CELEBRATION TO MARK THE DIAMOND JUBILEE OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH ON MARKET HILL ON MONDAY NEXT, THE 4TH JUNE AT 5 IN THE PM.

THERE WILL BE A JAZZ BAND, TWO HOGS A ROASTING, CHILDRENS FAIR RIDES AND A FANCY DRESS COMPETITION, STALLS, REFRESHMENTS, A PUPPET SHOW AND A MAGIC SHOW, A TUG OF WAR COMPETITION BETWEEN HEDON PUBS THE SHAKESPEARE, QUEENS AND THE STATION, VARIOUS DISPLAYS, DAGGER LANE SINGERS AND A FIRE ENGINE.

AND LATER IN THE EVENING THE LIGHTING OF THE BEACON, THEN A FANTASTIC FIREWORK DISPLAY TO END THE CELEBRATIONS, REMEMBER MONDAY NEXT THE 4TH OF JUNE AT 5 IN THE PM.”
