A RATHER SPECIAL singer/songwriter is set to perform in Hedon on Valentine’s Day.
Hailing from Driffield – but spending as much time in the US – folk singer Edwina Hayes is providing the entertainment at the Haven Arms for Valentine’s Evening on Tuesday 14th February 2012.
Edwina has supported other big-names in concert, such as Jools Holland and Van Morrison, and her cover of Randy Newman’s Feels Like Home was featured in the Cameron Diaz film My Sister’s Keeper.
The Valentine’s Evening acoustic set will feature cover versions of popular songs as well as her own work.
Edwina says: “I’m really happy to be returning to play at the Haven Arms Valentine’s Dinner. It’ll be my 6th year in a row and it’s always a really lovely evening.”
Edwina was born in Dublin and grew up in Preston, (the Lancashire City!) before moving to East Yorkshire as a teenager. However, Edwina says that her second home is Nashville in the USA. Perhaps it’s these different locations and accents that account for her unique sound and style?
The Valentine’s Evening costs £19.95 per person which includes a three-course meal and Champagne on arrival.
