Capturing the East Riding Competition closes today

A PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION organised by the East Riding’s Cultural Partnership closes today.

Unfortunately the Hedon Blog did not get enough interest to hold its own competition for Capturing the East Riding, however we did get sent photographs from some people. We have encouraged them to enter the competition as individuals.

But in the meanwhile we hope you enjoy some of these images in two different galleries (click):

  1. My bedtime reading informs me that one of the most useful new features of Word 2007/2010 is to save documents in PDF file format, and goes on how to do it.Unfortunately,Word2003 does not have this feature but there are free PDF creation tools available to download, My version maybe 2003 but I don’t know without checking, could be that the entry form was in the PDF format…..
Make me not to leave entry to competitions until the last minute!

  2. Thanks for reminding me re closing date Mr Editor,I downloaded the entry form this morning on the link provided,a 2 page A4 sized document needing details completed for every photo entered, and saved it to Documents.
Put selected photo in e- mail along with entry form from Documents and decided to check if both would open in the e-mail ,result, Windows will not open this file,it being potentially dangerous!.After doing a full scan of computer I tried various means to get both photo and document to open from e-mail ,even sending a nieghbour a e-mail to test it when I thought I had won,Result a photo, but no entry form.I Have Given Up.
Does anybody have a size six and seven eigths wig going spare as I have no hair left ……. Maybe need a refresher course on Microsoft Word .Jim Uney.

    • Hi Jim – Sorry about you difficulty! I’ve sent your comments on to Annabel Hanson who is the Competition coordinator.

I suspect it’s security measures in your windows e-mail programme. If possible you might try a web mail program like Gmail, hotmail, gmx, etc?
