BEVERLEY ART GALLERY is a purpose-built Edwardian building located in the heart of East Yorkshire’s capital. The gallery is currently celebrating its own 100th anniversary having opened in August 1910.
The Beverley Art Gallery has an active Friends Group who help support and promote the building, its exhibitions and activities. However, this active group of art lovers will be ‘letting their hair down’ later this month with a visit to Hedon for a special showing of the town’s civic silver:
The ‘Silver Show’ will be introduced by Dr Martin Craven who will give a fascinating insight into Hedon’s unique collection of civic maces, cutlery, salt cellars and bowls.
Silver Shows are staged on occasions throughout the year. Anyone who is interested in seeing the Town Silver should contact the Hedon Town Clerk who will put their name on the waiting list.
