HULL FREEDOM 2010

HULL’S FREE live music and arts event is back on the 10th and 11th September.

The Freedom Festival last year created unprecedented pride in Hull – not only from its residents but also from the thousands of visitors to that city. Freedom 2010 may very well surpass that event!?

Headline act pop bands McFly and The Saturdays will certainly appeal to the younger generation whilst the spectacular aerial street theatre M.O.B (Mobile Oblique and Bucolic) from Transe Express with performers “suspended 40 metres above Queen Victoria Square and silhouetted against the night sky” will appeal to just about everyone!

Plasticiens Volants at Yves Festival

Plasticiens Volants will be performing Monster Madness – a visual spectacle of giant puppets and creatures which will be flying over the heads of the public to tell their tale!

You can find out about the full programme of events over at Real Yorkshire or follow the latest chatter about the event on Twitter.

  1. I think the decision not to put on any extra buses for Hedon – Withernsea was abysmal and resulted in us having to leave early to be sure of getting a bus home which when it arrived was clearly fuller than it should have been with people sat all the way up the stairs. How do the council expect people to support these events if they can’t even provide a decent bus service to get people back home. I sure alot of people would have been stranded thinking they could get the last bus home, particularly teenagers. Needs to be better thought out next year.

  2. Those travelling by bus to the Freedom Festival might want to be aware that East Yorkshire Motor Services are not planning to put on extra buses at 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights. See their announcement.

It is quite possible that the last buses home at 11pm just might be full – particularly on Saturday night when the fireworks finale is not scheduled to start until 10:30pm!
