The East Riding of Yorkshire Council may be having problems with its internal communications contract (see Hull Daily Mail) but is still producing excellent external publications for its residents:

The latest October edition of East Riding News, the free monthly newspaper of the Council has been delivered to local residents. Back in May I started the debate What do you think of East Riding News? Let the Hedon Blog know your views by leaving a comment on that page or this. Since I wrote that blog post the East Riding News has been published online and is available from the online archives at the East Riding Council website.
