Hedon News 11

The current Sept/Oct 2009 issue of the Hedon Newsletter is now available from local shops, pubs and public buildings.

The HOTI campaign against the Waste Incinerator features on the front page. Don’t forget to join the March against the Incinerator meeting at the Co-op Car Park on Sat 3rd October 2009.

The Station Hotel has an advert on page 3 although it’s referred to as the Station Inn? Jackie and Carl are the new managers at this pleasant and friendly pub. My history sources tell me that the Station has been previously known as the Durham Ox, The Sun (not to be confused with The Sun that stood in St Augustine’s Gate in later times) and The Governor’s House in the past. Whatever the name let us give a real Hedon welcome to the new Governors of the Station.

Of course we must also mention the Shakespeare and Haven Arms which also have adverts in this particular edition of Hedon News.

The newsletter contains information about the proposed Park & Ride facility in Hedon, the Holderness Anti-Flood Scheme which will see Hedon waterways shored up, and a useful warning to residents on the threats posed by bogus workers cold calling your home.

You can also advertise in the newsletter – a small box costs £16 and a full page only £60.

But don’t just read about the Hedon Newsletter – read the real thing!
